Faced with a
positively rosy jobs report on Friday morning—and with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell apparently unavailable to
take credit for it—it fell to RNC Chairman Reince Priebus to
deliver the official Republican response to the good news. And according to Reince, news of a quarter of a million or so new jobs and rising wages is no reason to spike the football, and:
"This is why Republicans in Congress will continue to send job-creating legislation to the president’s desk."
Uh, Reince? Which legislation would that be? Because the only bill that Republicans have managed to get to the president's desk was one to
reauthorize terrorism risk insurance. Other than that, they've passed meaningless resolutions, voted to repeal Obamacare for the ten-billionth time, voted to enrich Canadian oil interests, fought over their latest anti-choice bill, and ... that about covers it. Nary a job in sight.
