Republican National Committee governing member Joyce Simmons has had enough. The Nebraska Republican pulled the rip cord and formally resigned over her party’s decision to continue sending money in support of Alabama Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate (and accused child molester and teen predator) Roy Moore.

In the letter below, she notes that she wishes she could continue to serve the “national Republican Party that I used to know well.” Past tense. This Republican party is unrecognizable to many as it’s virtually inconceivable that so many are standing by Roy Moore. It’s not just amid allegations he preyed on teenage girls, but his longstanding un-American views on church and state and his promotion of hateful ideals, including his desire to see homosexuality outlawed altogether. In fact, in a 2011 radio interview, Roy Moore said getting rid of amendments after 10th would "eliminate many problems." What would Moore get rid of?

Thank you for your courage and for standing by your principles, Joyce Simmons.
