Republicans with a slight lick of sense are continuing to abandon Roy Moore like the proverbial rats from a sinking ship. (durrati’s got two more.) But the latest bad news for American’s longest-Twitter-trending sexual predator (#RoyMooreChildMolester has been there all day) may be the worst.
The GOP’s Senate campaign arm on Friday severed its fundraising agreement with Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, the most concrete step the party has taken to separate itself from the besieged nominee.
His fundraising agreement with the RNC is still in force, but might not be for too much longer:
While the Senate GOP campaign arm has ended its fundraising arrangement with Moore, he still has one with the Republican National Committee. Top officials with the committee, who have been in talks with the White House, are still trying to determine whether to sever its ties with the candidate. The RNC also has field staffers in Alabama.
After the story broke on Thursday, RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel spoke by phone with White House political director Bill Stepien. Yet as of Friday afternoon, she still had not connected with President Donald Trump, who is traveling abroad in Asia.
Of course they must consult with the Sexual Predator-in-Chief. Who originally supported Luther Strange in the primary against Moore. Be interesting to see which way Drumpf jumps. Of course he has total sympathy with Moore for his predilections, but he’s also all about appearances.
Meanwhile, Moore’s getting pressure from other relatively-sane Republicans to throw in the towel. Such as GOP strategist Rick Wilson, tweeting before the NRSC made its decision:

Maybe it’s too late and the Republican Party is already owning pedophilia as part of its brand image. They have provided so many absolutely loathsome quotes, including Moore himself on Hannity saying he’d never date a girl without permission from her mother. He seems just as clueless and tone-deaf as the Orange Menace.
At any rate, I would say gun-totin’ Judge (of a sort) Roy Moore is in deep doo-doo.
