Republicans trying to relive the 1990s with plans to smear the Clintons

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton depart the former Governor of New York Mario Cuomo's funeral in Manhattan, New York January 6, 2015. Cuomo, a three-term governor, and a leading voice of the Democratic Party's liberal wing, he died at his home last Thursday at age 82, only hours after his son Gov. Andrew Cuomo was inaugurated for a second term.      REUTERS/Carlo Allegri   (UNITED STATES - Tags: OBITUARY POLITICS) - RTR4KBHH
When Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus said Bill Clinton would be "fair game" if Hillary Clinton runs for president, he was serious. In fact, Priebus is already getting his smear campaign up and running:
"We're writing a Hillary Clinton book now, we've got a research team that is in Little Rock, so we're not going to be shy about it."
That's two or three full-time Republican opposition researchers in Little Rock, a city the Clintons left more than 20 years ago, and a city where probably every resident alive during the Clintons' time there has already been interviewed by at least half a dozen Republican dirt-gatherers.

Hey, Reince, here's an idea: Why not plan to run against Hillary Clinton on her record?

Sorry, just a little joke there. Republicans know they can't win that way. Hence the research team in f'ing Little Rock, which is likely as much part of a campaign to keep Clinton from running by reminding her of the kind of attacks she'll face as it is part of an effort to actually find new information.
